PowerShot SD400- is it compatible with a 4GB SD Memory Card?
I have a PowerShot SD400 Digital Elph, 5.0 Megapixels, which is several years old, and am looking to purchase another memory card for it as I am going on a trip soon. I currently have a 1 GB memory card, but would like to get a 4 GB one. Does anyone know if a 4 GB card would be compatible with this camera? I have a friend who purchased a memory card for her camera not too long ago, and her camera told her that the card was "locked" even though it wasn't. When she called the store they told her that some older camera's cannot handle cards with an excessive amount of memory--is this true?
Stick to 2GB SD (Not SDHC) cards. Your camera is pre-SDHC and definitely won't use them.
Officially the SD standard only goes to 2GB and there are a few tricks played to get the capacity to 4GB and your camera may not like them.
