I have a toshiba satellite L300-13R that I understand has an express card reader.?

I was just wondering if this is the same thing as a PCMCIA slot? As I want to buy an Ex-Pro DV Laptop Firewire iLink IEEE1394 Editing Kit, including PCMCIA DV Editing Card, plus DV Cable for connection to Sony Camcorders with DV Output for Video Editing on your Laptop / Notebook Easy Install, and am wondering if it will fit into my laptop, as I need to for editing. Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.

NO sorry though they are similar they are not the same the express card is thinner than the PCMCIA one is only 34mm wide where the other is 55mm wide and the express card being the smaller, I believe you can get adapters but that leaves the PCMCIA card hanging out a long way from the laptop

This RFID Reader/Writer card, GAO Model #8170001, is a long-range (up to 100 meters) interrogator in a PCMCIA card format that minimizes human intervention while achieving extremely reliable performance of real time data collection in identification, tracking, tracing, and localization of assets or people.

 

This card uses UHF radio frequency technology with an advanced anti-collision algorithm, allowing it to accurately transmit and receive information to and from literally thousands of RFID tags. It can be conveniently plugged into a laptop, handheld or mobile computer, and ships with development software for application development under Windows CE/9x/NT/ 2000/XP and Linux. The software also enables it to process data and update firmware from the PCMCIA- or serial interface.
