If a cell phone is TD-SCDMA will that work on a CDMA cell network?
I am not familiar with China's cell networks and lingo. I just want to know if a phone they make in china, if released and approved by the FCC here will work on the cdma network not gsm.
The reason i ask is the meizu m8 is a TD-SCDMA phone. I just wonder will that be an easy conversion for them to make CDMA version of the phone. Which is set to release early 2008 in the US.
China's TD-SCDMA is not compatibe w/ what we know as CDMA networks. In fact, TD-SCDMA was designed to not interwork with either GSM or CDMA. It's meant to protect China manufacturers and network operators by shutting out companies such as Motorola and Nokia so that only China manufacturers can only produce equipment for the China market.
