2Gb compact flash Kingston card I just bought isnt being recognized by my computer, but works on my camera?
I just bought an 2 GB CompactFlash Elite Pro Card from Kingston Tech for my Olympus camera. I used the card yesterday and took some pictures, and it worked fine on the camera. When I went to transfer it to my computer w/ a card reader, it recognized that their was a disc in the computer (e:/) but when I clicked on it, said "Please insert disc into e: drive" ... tried this at my home and office computer, both with the same error message. is this a faulty memory card? Did I need to format it before use (even though it worked fine on my camera, and the photos are stored there?) IS it a driver issue? Please help, thanks!
Also, forgot to mention, that the card reader does work with my 512 mb compact flash card, dont know if there is something different b/w a 512 and 2 gb card?
ALWAYS format your memory card before using it. But since you already have pics in it, try this first: if your camera has a USB connection, put the card in the camera, have the camera setup to pc mode and plug the camera to the computer. if that doesnt work, and you want to print the pics, send it to the photo lab, maybe they can do something about it. Then format afterwards. If all esle fails, return it to the store where you bought it and ask them whats wrong or ask for a refund or exchange.
