(please help) Should I take a sony 8 digtal camera?
I have recently got interested in film making and my uncle has offered me this old sony 8 camera like this one
Should i get that camera or go out and buy a flash memory camera. Also could I get the camera footage I shoot into a program like FInal cut pro. Also can I put it on a tripod please help me out I really don't know what I should get. I heard that cameras that use tape have better quality than flash memory I would really appreciate it if you would please take your time to help me.
could you also use a shoot gun mic or those things they put on the camera to get better audio.
Also does it have iris and gain. Like normal fetures on a flash memory camera
To be honest It was a good camera in its day, you may find that the "modern" cameras are better quality, but If he is giving it to you I would take it. Its still going to give you a good quality picture,make suree the heads are clean and you use new tapes.
As a tape based Digital camera you get the video onto your computer Via Firewire, as you have a Mac then I would expect it to have a Firewire port. there are compatibility issues with Your Mac and the video format.
