Problem with Card Reader: No Icon in My computer?
I've bought a Sony memory reader which has a USB2.0 port beside several slots for various memory types. It is connected to a USB header on motherboard.
The problem is that though the reader gets its power and has its Status indicator turned on, it doesn't read any memory card at all. Actually there's no icon in My Computer presenting it as a removable disk. However the USB2.0 port on the reader is working fine.
I changed the device with a new tested one but it didn't work too. I've examined the reader both in XP and the Vista.
And as a final solution, I delete some USB hub off the device manager and boot the system. didn't work....
What should I do to solve this problem
I'm not sure whether or not the reader is a remark of Sony, but it's not a big deal, just wanna get my work done!
Just assume that it's been working on another system.
MY FRIEND,AS A PROFESSIONAL COMPUTER HARDWARE ENGINEER I THINK THAT YOUR MEMORY CARD READER IS NOT OF SONY COMPANY OR THERE IS SOME INTERNAL CHIPSET PROBLEM .HAVE YOU BOUGHT IT FROM AN OFFICIAL SONY SHOWROOM?
