Do I have to get a lens adapter in order to use filters on my Kodak Z8612 IS?

Well a short glance as the front shows me nothing for a filter to attack or screw unto. Not much hope there and there is one part that you can put on the camera but it is

Yeah nothing to screw anything unto either.
So the anwser is no seemingly it offers no option for filters. A shame but well to be fair quite common in that class of cameras.
A tip, you actually don't require to cary with you 5 color filters and the rest. Because most of what filters did in the past we nowadays do in software. There are only a few things that can't be done in software or is simply better done in real life then in the software.
Filters, like UV filters are useful but cheap ones might actually make flares appear in pictures where without there are none. This due to cheap or no coating.
In the end there isn't much need for filters these days unless well you want to do something special. For instance improve magnification of the lens.
