what is the risk in using a microSDHC card in a device that is only approved for microSD?
i own a nextel ic902 and i want to upgrade the memory card. i searched online for microSD cards and i came across the 8GB microSDHC. i looked in the manual for my phone and it doesn't say anything about the ic902 being HC compatible. i called nextel to ask tech support. the guy told me that "ummm... i don't know... i don't think there would be a problem..." but then he put me on hold and said that he didn't think i could use the 8GB SDHC. he did not exactly inspire confidence. before i make a purchase, i want to know... what are my risks in using the SDHC? can i damage the phone or am i just risking data loss?
Your phone just won't recognize the card. It'll be like it has never been inserted. Buy a 2Gb micro SD because anything more than 2Gb is automatically an SDHC card.
