How do I install windows XP from a Pen Drive?
I have 8 CD's that came along with my HP laptop. They contain all the drivers and Windows XP installation files. But my CD-ROM is not working. Is it possible to copy the data from the CDs to a Pen Drive?
I know of a program that will let you copy an original OEM single CD to a USB flash drive to install, I am not 100% sure about it moving 8 discs though..... If you cannot find a way around it you might just need to borrow an external CD drive to do this task. I have heard of people (not myself) buying an external drive, installing windows and returning it to the store... not sure of the legality of that and all but its an option if your in a bind. Anyways the software I was talking about is called Win2flash I am giving you a link below I hope it helps you out some.
* If your windows CD itself is just a single disk, then win2flash will work perfectly, I would then make sure you have an internet connection and just download all your drivers from HP's website it will save you turning 8 CD's into flash drives after windows is up.
