we have a digital camcorder with a 4GB SD card how do we get it to work?
we have a Polaroid RoHS Model number CAA-03040S and a 4 GB Sd card when we have the SD inserted into the camera, the camera will only flash on for a moment then turns off. so I take out the SD card and it will then turn on and stay on. While it is on I will insert the SD card the camera will stay on. But when I try to record, it will not record to the Card, it just says memory full. But there is nothing on the card. So I then go into the menu to see what it is recording to and it says the memory card. so do I need a different card b/c the camera says it is recording to the memory card.
I thought I recognized your camcorder model. BTW - the RoHS refers to lead free construction, it's a big thing for current electronics.
Your camcorder accepts SD cards. I'm willing to bet anything that your 4 GB card says "SDHC" on it. Devices made before the High Capacity version of the Secure Digital card was released are limited to a 2 GB maximum card size. In short, your 4GB card is more advanced than your camcorder. Go and by a 2 GB SD card (that doesn't say HC) and your camcorder should work fine.
