In my recent Canon HF200 review, the Canon modeled really impressed me over other brands I looked at. Here are some of this camera's great features.
• The size - The HF200 is a lightweight and small enough to fit into your jacket pocket. It's comfortable to hold, and the buttons are easy to use.
• Battery Life - I tested the battery life on many cameras in my Canon HF200 review, and the Canon offers about ½ hours of battery life with the option to purchase higher capacity batteries. Other cameras had far less battery life and some lost charge when the camera was turned off.
• Video Snapshot Mode - My favorite feature! In this mode, you can make a fun, four second highlights snippet. You just push a button on the side of the camcorder, and the camera automatically creates a short snippet just like that.
• Image Quality - The Canon's quick focus and amazing video quality is tops. You get sharp, saturated colors, and solid images in the dynamic range. It handles good with indoor lighting, too.
• Memory Card - This camera uses a removable SDHC Memory card. While not something some people like, I personally think a removable card is easier to use than a removable card. You just simply need to plug the memory card into the USB port.
The Canon comes with everything you need like a battery, USB, remote, AC adapter, A/V, and component video cables. It also comes with an owners manual written and two CDs - with video tools for managing and editing videos and Pixela ImageMixer 3 for transferring videos. A bonus CD has background music for your video snaps.
In preparing this Canon HF200 review, I reviewed comparable models available, and the Canon had the best battery life. The Canon also had great features like quick focus, image quality, OIS, and a lightweight, compact design. It's fun to use. This Canon model isn't the cheapest on the market, but it has more great features than other models.
