which camcorder should i buy?
Im looking for a camcorder. I want one with a good length zoom ( 30x optical or more), good quality and yea. I would like it to record to SDHC cards and preferably mini dv tapes. Also i want an external mic jack. under 300 or a bit more.
i saw the canon ZR960 but it does not record on sd cards.

it does not HAVE to use sdhc cards. but please, PLEASE try to find one that does.
oh yea and a flip out screen that is 2.5 inches or less
and don't forget good quality and good low light quality. i know i won't find one that has GREAT low light quality but i will mostly have it on a tripod recording on my desk with like two lights on.
image stabilization is preferred.

it is very good quality, can shoot in HD, and is great for film making (what are you using it for?) You can get it at B&H
It's probably the best for the price! If it's for film making, i'd get this setup

if you go on the Indy Mogul film making foums and ask about the HV30, they'll all tell you it's great, and a really good camera. it's $250 more than you wanted to pay, but it is worth it!
