No the lock switch is not on lock!
I just Bought it the other day And put it into my New 10.2 Megapixel FujiFilm Camera.
I am running Windows Vista Home Edition on my Dell 1525 Laptop and it has an SD reader on the front. whenever I put my SD in the front it shows up on my computer as Secure Digital Storage Device, but whenever i try to drag & drop files( Or Copy & Paste) it comes up with this message:
The Disk Is Write-Protected.
Remove The Write-Protection Or Use Another Disk.
What Do I do To remove the write Protection ??!

Because it is a mechanical switch, the only way to turn it off it to throw the switch in the off position. But you said you did that. Try it again, switch it on and then off again. Maybe you didn't get the switch thrown all the way. If that doesn't work, take it back to where you got it for a replacement!
