Will it be harmful to my digital camera if it is taken through a metal detector or X-ray scanner?
I was worried about airport security measures. Should I do anything to the memory card, batteries or the camera itself during this process?
As long as you keep your camera and cards with your carry-on luggage, you're fine. The X-Ray scanners used at security checkpoints won't do anything harmful to them.
Putting them in your checked luggage would be a bad idea, though - the CT scanners airports use to check those bags have the potential to destroy memory cards, though cameras might be safe going through them.
