Why does my linksys usb wireless adapter constantly disconnect when under load?
I have been using a linksys wire usb adapter for over 2 years now and in the last 3 weeks it has suddenly started disconnectingwhen i try to download large files or watch the iplayer etc. Thinking it may have been a windows update i installed the latest version of Suse Linux but encountered the same problem.
The connection will remain active as long as i only surf small sites or don't use the network to move files.
My guess is it disconnects over a period of inactivity on the web. I bet that if you were to go to a website and just leave it for the amount of time it takes you to download those large files your internet will disconnect. It could be part of the whole minutes plan or just saving electricity, whatever the cause be. If the results are true, then keep surfing the web as you download those large files, smaller sites recommended to maintain a good download speed.
